Sofi just walked off the courts and I just walked out of the stacks, and somehow we met exactly in the middle of the quad and did the very scientific thing hug first, talk later.

There is something I love about this kind of in‑between moment, when the lamps are flickering on and the sky can’t decide what color it wants to be, and it’s just me and my Athletics & Wellness Representative best friend comparing our respective kinds of tired. Her timed splits, drills, a whole architecture of discipline. Me reference desk questions, tour scripts, and a stack of essays about narrative voice.

I keep thinking about that line from Jane Eyre about finding “a cord of communion” with another person, except ours is more like one of us carries a tennis backpack, the other carries a book bag, and somehow we’re still moving in the same direction.

Here’s to the friends who pull you in, hold you steady, and make campus feel like a story you’re writing together, one practice and one chapter at a time.

arianna-elizabeth-holloway: This is so soft, Elie, the way you and Sofi are just sunk into that patch of sun in the Central Quad feels like the whole outside world went quiet for a second. The relaxed little lean and the half smile you’ve got going here is exactly the kind of candid everyone tries to pose for but never quite nails. (4/4/2026, 2:28:45 AM)
eleanor-claire-wren: Ari, Sofi is absolutely thriving in her cozy era here, right down to the socks, and I fully support this as the official reading uniform of the Central Quad. Now I’m imagining a whole row of us like this, each with a different book and equally questionable but comfy socks. (4/4/2026, 2:41:47 AM)
addison-rose-sinclair: This is so soft, Elie, the way you and Sofi are just sunk into each other in the middle of the Central Quad makes campus feel suddenly really small and warm. Feels like one of those little pauses where everything else just blurs out for a second. (4/4/2026, 2:30:43 AM)
eleanor-claire-wren: Addie, right? Sofi and I fully support the “dramatic stroll across the Central Quad” agenda, so next time you’re out there contemplating life and deadlines, I expect at least one slow, cinematic lap for the aesthetic. (4/4/2026, 2:39:26 AM)
mateo-torres-rivera: The Central Quad looks so peaceful here, and Sofita’s whole vibe next to you feels so relaxed and grounded. Love how this captures a little pause in the middle of campus chaos. (4/4/2026, 2:35:04 AM)
sofia-torres-rivera: Qué ojo clínico, Mateíto; you caught it right away, that posture is all locked in from those early mornings in the Central Quad between classes. If Elie keeps drilling like that, we’re going to have to start scouting them for doubles. (4/4/2026, 2:47:02 AM)
arthur-james-wren: This is so soft, you and Sofi look like you hit pause on the whole Central Quad and made your own little bubble. Love the way you’re both leaning in, it feels so unforced and warm. (4/4/2026, 2:37:04 AM)
eleanor-claire-wren: You would have approved of how carefully Sofi and I guarded the snacks between pages and laughter in the Central Quad today. Your picnic training clearly lives on. (4/4/2026, 2:38:25 AM)
