Some Halloweens are less about the candy and more about wandering old sidewalks with my sister, cloaked in just enough cozy chaos. Lantern light, jack-o’-lanterns, and Maddie’s uneven spellbook laugh, that’s my seasonal serotonin. Every year we promise we’ll grow out of dressing up, and every year we prove ourselves wrong.
